Studio Roosegaarde is the social design lab of artist Daan Roosegaarde with his team of designers and engineers |

Made from more than 50,000 solar powered, glow in the dark stones, a cycle path honouring Vincent Van Gogh’s 125th anniversary can lay claim to being the world’s most artistic.
Inspired by the painter’s 'Starry Night', the stones appear to glitter and swirl at night, having charged during daytime. Studio Roosegaarde and construction firm Heijmans Infrastructure collaborated to create the Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bicycle path in Nuenen, Netherlands, where Van Gogh lived in 1883.
It is the second part of the ‘Smart Highway’ project, in which designer Daan Roosegaarde and Heijmans are creating roads that are sustainable and smart by using new technologies and designs.
Costing €700,000 (US$868,251, £553,973) the cycle route aims to connect heritage spots in Van Gogh’s homeland, including the locations where he produced some of his most famous masterpieces.
