Lasvit has partnered with design firm Yabu Pushelberg to create a bespoke Christmas tree for The Upper House, a boutique hotel in Hong Kong.
The tree, which will be displayed in the hotel lobby, is designed to greet guests with a design and light experience as they enter the hotel.
The tree, the second for the Upper Hotel, is based on the Otto glassware and Cipher light collections that Yabu Pushelberg and Lasvit launched earlier this year. Featuring heritage techniques, dramatic textures and a contemporary form the tree is designed to strike a balance between old and new.
Marcel Thoma, general manager of The Upper House says: “It’s an absolute honour to collaborate with two iconic names in the design world. To have Yabu Pushelberg’s concept transformed into a breathtaking work of art by the craftsmen of Lasvit is simply incredible.”
Thoma adds: “We are thrilled to have the creation displayed at our House for all guest to admire.”
The Upper House will auction off the one-of-a-kind tree to raise money for charity. All proceeds of the sale will be donated to The Society for AIDS Care.
