Andrews Water Heaters has provided two Queens award-winning MAXXflo condensing storage water heaters to The Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales.
The Celtic Manor Resort is the chosen venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup. The Resort has invested £16 million in designing, developing and constructing a new clubhouse and associated infrastructure schemes, as well as a brand new course called Twenty Ten, the first ever to be primarily designed with The Ryder Cup in mind.
The two MAXXflo CWH90/300 condensing storage water heaters are installed in the roof top plant room of the clubhouse, servicing all basins, sinks, bar areas and the kitchen. There are 11 showers in total, which can often be in use all at one time depending on how many guests are using the clubhouse.
Energy efficiency was a major consideration in the construction of The Twenty Ten Clubhouse and the building is installed with a Trend Building Management System into which the MAXXflo units are linked.
The efficiency of the MAXXflo ensures that the hot water supply for the building is also achieved with a minimum expenditure of energy. This is thanks to a recovery rate of 1530 litres per hour through a temperature rise of 50°C, and an output up to 91.6kW.
Furthermore, the MAXXflo has an anti-legionella function built in to its design, which uses closely controlled water temperature and carefully regulated water flow to afford protection against the colonisation of legionella bacteria within the unit.
