Kentec to stop false alarms |

Exeter University's Northcott Theatre has seen the installation of a Kentec fire detection control panel and voice evacuation system.
The theatre uses a variety of special effects during its productions, including fire, which could set off a standard fire alarm each time it is used. Kentec's solution is designed to combat this.
Technical staff at the building can temporarily disable the system when effects are due to be used, and then re-initiate the system once the special effects have been used.
If the theatre does ever need to be evacuated, two zonal microphones have been fitted to allow the fire services to make live direct announcements to the public.
