Before it was a competitive spirit that drove us, now it will be a spirit of teamwork and collaboration
– Ernest Yale, Triotech Founder and CEO |
Triotech has announced a breakthrough alliance with Benoit Cornet and Bold Move to bring a new collaborative approach to the design of media-based attractions – with an emphasis on adding value for operators.
The experiences will leverage the transformative trends in parks and location-based entertainment venues as well as retailtainment in shopping malls. Emphasis will also be put on the post-covid challenges the market is facing today.
Benoit Cornet, founder and creative force behind Alterface and Bold Move, has extensive expertise in interactive ride technology and is known for his creativity. He brings a deep understanding of the amusement parks and LBE ecosystem, particularly in Europe.
His latest venture, Bold Move, will co-operate with Triotech on ideation, technology and business development.
“I have known Benoit for several years and we have always pushed each other to come up with better solutions for our clients,” said Ernest Yale, Triotech Founder and CEO. “Before it was a competitive spirit that drove us, now it will be a spirit of teamwork and collaboration.”
Together, Ernest Yale and Benoit Cornet represent more than 40 years’ combined entrepreneurial experience in the attractions industry. Their work has been recognized with numerous industry awards and both have been named as Top 50 industry influencers. Working together will bring them and their respective teams closer to operators which will enable them to deliver innovative and tailored turn-key attractions.
“For my next step, I wanted to leverage my experience to help parks and operators create amazing experiences,” said Benoit Cornet. “This is the mission of Bold Move, an agile and innovative business, merging creativity with technology.
“Adding Triotech to my network of trusted partners will allow me to better serve clients and develop true turn-key attractions that add value to their operations.
“Triotech is a recognized authority in interactivity, gaming, and fun attractions. These also happen to be strong trends and needs in our industry. In that regard, it makes them a perfect partner for me and Bold Move.”
Triotech is known for its technology and know-how, which have been the cornerstones to their success in designing media-based attractions. Benoit Cornet will help Triotech adapt this to the specificities of European operators, among others, and Triotech will become a partner of certain Bold Move projects.
Benoit’s knowledge of attractions and dark rides combined with Triotech’s technology and expanded capacity will bring tailored solutions to amusement parks and other location-based entertainment venues.
The collaboration will focus on developing solutions that respond to emerging operators’ needs from a post-covid perspective as well as other current transformative trends in parks, FECs, location-based entertainment and retailtainment – including the transformation of shopping malls to include more entertainment.
The first projects are expected to be announced within the year, focusing on tailored attractions that fulfil the operator’s need for entertainment value for the guests and capacity, while balancing the investment needed.
Consolidation, the next step? Triotech acquired CL Corporation last year. The company, based in Rennes, France has been designing media-based attractions for more than 20 years. They have a recognised expertise in platform motion, integrated immersive experiences, and custom attractions. This acquisition, combined with the newly announced collaboration, could signal the beginning of a consolidation trend in the industry. Consolidation often happens during disruptive periods and 2020 has certainly been disruptive in so many ways. Consolidation also typically follows sustained growth periods, which for the attractions industry has been the case since at least 2012.
