Now more than ever, we need to focus on retaining customers and building communities
– Paul Bedford |
Global retention expert, Dr Paul Bedford, will host his sixth annual Retention Convention virtually, bringing together global speakers to form a documentary-style event around turning customers into communities.
With over 700 individuals from 235 companies, from 30 countries, the event will be hosted on 3 December 2020 and promises to be a truly international affair.
Bedford commented: “Now more than ever, we need to focus on retaining customers and building communities."
The 2020 line up is an all-female cast and includes award-winning Australian studio owner, Amanda Bracks, who will open the convention with her session Making People Feel Like They Belong – focused on how to build a tight community of members using fun retention activities, attendance driven competitions, a postcard programme and referral programmes, including examples used during lockdown.
The line-up also Lauren Moate, Learning and Development manager for énergie, who’ll explain building communities through the franchise model, with her session Creating A Community, Not Just A Club. Bedford has also selected Gillian Reeves to speak – the person responsible for Virgin Active’s 122 Group Exercise programmes and increasing participation from 25 to 40 per cent during her seven years as national group exercise manager.
Reeves will host a talk focused on Building Communities in Multi-Site Big Box and Micro Studios.
In addition, Stacey Vandiver, owner and CEO of US-based group fitness education brand, SoulBody Fitness, will speak to attendees about what SoulBody and other operators have done to Build community, at country, club and class levels.
The line-up is completed with Marisa Hoff, named one of IHRSA’s Women Who Inspire in 2019, who will talk about Building Communities Through Social Media.
Previously Marisa was GM of Stevenson Fitness, where she oversaw club operations, including an NPS consistently in the 90s and retention rates over 70 per cent.
