Fast-growing functional training franchise The Shredquarters has reached the 10-site milestone with the opening of its latest club in Twickenham, south-west London, on 25 July.
The 3,500sq ft club is located directly opposite Twickenham train station in an eye-catching “high street retail-style” environment, says Shredquarters owner and founder Adam Waters.
On offer is the brand’s signature ‘Shred’ gym floor HIIT class, created with member results in mind. Also on offer at the new club are boxing, yoga and strength classes.
Physical has supplied a full complement of flooring and free weights, rigs and punchbags, TRX, battle ropes, Olympic bars and storage racks.
Twickenham is the third London site for Shredquarters. A 10-strong pipeline, signed and scheduled to open over the remainder of 2022 and into 2023, include a further four London locations – in Purley, Clapham, Kingston on Thames and Sutton – as well as five clubs in Greater Birmingham and one in Bristol.
“We continue to see huge interest from prospective franchisees,” says Waters. “I believe we’ll become UK market leader in this space within the next two to three years.”
Shredquarters’ growth comes in spite of the franchise only launching during the pandemic, and Waters attributes this success to the brand’s highly transparent, affordable model.
“Our ethos is all about getting franchisees up and running and turning a profit,” he says. “We ripped up the rule book that says you should make money from your franchisees upfront – charging a mark-up on kit and so on – because that isn’t how we believe franchising should be done.
“Ultimately, we want our franchisees to quickly enjoy a great return on investment. We want them to succeed. That’s good for them, good for our brand, and ultimately the right thing to do.
“We’re out to do things differently and we’re pushing hard for UK market leadership.”
“It’s hugely exciting to be on this journey with Adam and the team at Shredquarters,” concludes Physical account manager Paul Farrell.
“We’re delighted to have signed a five-year exclusivity agreement with this dynamic brand and are very much looking forward to continuing to support this fantastic ‘made in Britain’ growth story.”
