SkinCeuticals has relaunched its signature A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced moisturiser with an all-new formula.
The product is described as a multi-corrective hydrating cream that targets the signs of visible ageing caused by collagen decline and collagen glycation.
Originally launched 14 years ago, the main ingredients in the new A.G.E. Interrupter Advanced are: • Wild fruit flavonoids: an antioxidant blend of blueberry and pomegranate extracts. • Glycyrrhetinic acid: liquorice root extract used in formulas for its soothing properties. • Concentrated proxylane (20 per cent extra than the previous formula): Proxlyane is a patent active ingredient used in formulas targeting the appearance of wrinkles, laxity, firmness, smoothness and elasticity.
What is glycation? During the ageing process, sugars bind to the skin’s structural proteins, like collagen, forming molecules known as advanced glycation end products (or A.G.E.). This multi-phased process makes collagen rigid and weak, leading to visible signs of ageing.
In addition to tackling glycation, the A.G.E Interrupter Advanced is claimed to help optimise the collagen matrix’s integrity, smooth visible wrinkles, restore firmness and enhance the skin’s radiance.
“The newly reformulated A.G.E Interrupter Advanced is underpinned by the innovative science of targeting collagen degradation on a multi-dimensional level,” said Dr Ana Mansouri, aesthetic doctor and medical director at Dr Ana • The Skin Clinic (partnered with SkinCeuticals).
“Having reviewed the updated formulation, I’ll be recommending my patients implement this into their maintenance regimens post-procedure alongside in-clinic collagen induction procedures such as micro-needling.”
